Ólafur’s passion for climate policy began during his childhood in Iceland, learning about the threats of climate change and witnessing the country’s commitments to clean energy and environmentalism. Since then he has gained experience in various areas of climate policy as a clean energy writer for an undergraduate political journal, intern at clean energy think tanks, and government affairs analyst at a clean tech startup. Ólafur’s introduction to EV policy came through his time as a Policy Intern at SAFE, where he researched critical minerals supply chains and the Clean Vehicle Tax Credit. Ólafur holds a B.A. from the University of Chicago with a double major in Law, Letters and Society and Economics, and a minor in Statistics. In his free time he enjoys climbing, running, and reading.
