WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Zero Emission Transportation Association (ZETA) announced the expansion of its team today with the addition of Alex Gibson as Deputy Communications Director.
“Passing the Inflation Reduction Act was a milestone moment in the transition to electric vehicles, and it provides Americans with a significant opportunity to get involved,” said Joe Britton, Executive Director of ZETA. “For this to be a long-term success, it is essential that we continue to work with our federal partners to ensure that the law is implemented quickly and thoughtfully. Key to this will be communicating with policymakers about the role that EVs will have in the future and the many benefits that they provide to our communities. We are excited to welcome Alex to the team to continue the work that ZETA has done to date, and to support these efforts to bring electric vehicles to each and every American family.”
In his new role, Gibson will support ZETA’s growing advocacy and educational efforts at a critical time for the electrification of the transportation sector. In particular, he will work to build an online community through digital campaigns, communicate with key external stakeholders regarding ZETA’s policy positions, and collaborate with subject matter experts to write, publish, and promote white papers and other informational materials regarding the importance of and path to electrified transportation in the United States.
Gibson joined ZETA following six years with the American Apparel & Footwear Association, where he led external communications and served as the primary press contact. During this time, he worked extensively on messaging to support the industry’s trade, supply chain, and brand protection policy priorities. He is a graduate of Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy where he earned a Masters of Public Policy, and completed his undergraduate degree at Mount St. Mary’s University. Gibson is based in Washington, D.C.
